Action ALERT: House to introduce FIX to HB228 today!

In only the last five days, over fifteen thousand members and supporters of Ohio Gun Owners have contacted their own state representatives and senators at the Statehouse demanding they fix the disastrous HB228.

To be blunt, that’s a staggering number in legislative politics.

And I’m happy to report to you that they are responding!

During yesterday’s sponsor testimony on Senator Kristina Roegner’s SB53, the chairman of the Government Oversight Committee stated that it was likely to get voted out next week.

And this morning at 11:30, the House Federalism Committee will hear sponsor testimony on HB86, which is being offered by newly-elected Representative Phil Plummer.

This legislation is a House version to fix HB228’s disaster, and while we haven’t seen final draft language on this bill yet, there are many rumors floating around that it will likely be amended to include the emergency clause language included in SB53!

We’ll be on hand for today’s committee hearing on HB86, but gun owners need to continue to pound the pavement for this bill to get fixed.

So please do two things right away:

First, contact your representative AGAIN today, by phone if necessary, and tell them you want them to support SB53 and HB86 with emergency clause language!

We’ve done the hard work for you by providing a pre-written email and phone script – please contact them right away!

Second, please consider chipping in a contribution of whatever amount you can afford.

Our mobilization efforts right now to fix HB228 are forcing us to cannibalize the resources we were planning to use to advance Stand-Your-Ground and Constitutional Carry legislation during this General Assembly.

Once we get HB228 fixed, we do not want to be forced to take our foot off the gas – we want to hammer down!

So please make an additional contribution if your budget can afford it.

If you can afford $5, we gratefully accept it. If you can afford $500 or more, we’ll quickly put it to good use.

Thank you for taking action!

For Freedom,

Chris Dorr, Executive Director
Ohio Gun Owners
