The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster ride for our Second Amendment.
As you know, last week the U.S. Supreme Court handed down a landmark ruling that upholds freedom and invalidates blatantly unconstitutional gun laws in blue states around the nation.
At the same time, OGO members and supporters worked non-stop to pummel our congressmen and women with calls and emails opposing the federal gun control bill that passed and was signed by Biden.
But before the ink was even dry on the parchment, rabid leftists in our General Assembly began salivating over the $750 million up for grabs to implement Red Flag Gun Confiscation laws here in Ohio!
In fact, these cultural Marxists are using the fact that FIVE traitorous Ohio RINOs like Rob Portman, Anthony Gonzalez, Dave Joyce, Steve Chabot, and Mike Turner supported the massive assault on our gun rights in Congress as justification to pass a Red Flag law of our own.
Even worse, notorious RINO State Senator Stephanie Kunze already has a trojan horse ‘bi-partisan’ Red Flag Gun Confiscation bill introduced in our General Assembly, Senate Bill 138, and pressure is already building from ‘Republicans’ and leftists alike in Columbus to ram it into law!
Of course, Red Flag Gun Confiscation laws totally destroy due process for gun owners.
They do that by empowering liberal judges to order the confiscation of your guns based on hearsay evidence, without ever being charged, tried or convicted of a crime!
Your accuser can attack you in a secret court hearing that you don’t even know is happening and where you aren’t even allowed in the room to defend yourself.
And once the liberal judge decides you no longer get to own guns, the confiscation order goes right to the jackboots and the first thing you know, it is 6:00am and your front door is being bashed in with a battering ram.
The fact is, this gun-control bill has a terrible history of passing, even in Republican-controlled legislatures with Republican governors, states like Florida and Indiana.
And with the Federal government dangling millions of ‘free’ bribe money in front of our weak Republican majorities in Columbus to pass Red Flag laws like S.B. 138 – this is a recipe for disaster!
If we don’t act fast to stop this, I’m afraid that our weak Republican leadership will compromise our gun rights away in a hurry.
Ohio Gun Owners is going to fight gun-control like this with everything we have, that’s for damn sure.
Because if Republican Stephanie Kunze and the Communist Left get their way, you can kiss your gun rights goodbye.
Think that couldn’t happen?
Only a few short years ago, I thought a lot of things couldn’t happen.
That’s why we need to politically rock the foundation of the Statehouse with a massive bombardment of grassroots action against this bill if we are going to be successful in stopping it.
Because if we don’t, we’ll be damned and our State left in ashes.
