Your Ohio Gun Owners Membership for 2023

The explosive 2023 legislative session in Columbus will begin in just a matter of days. But, as of this moment, you still haven’t renewed your membership in Ohio Gun Owners!

These are very busy days here at OGO and it is very possible that you already renewed online or in the mail and our records simply haven’t caught up fast enough.

So if you have renewed your membership, I apologize for this unnecessary reminder. But if you haven’t renewed your support, please renew for 2023 right away!

Next year is going to be pivotal for gun owners.

Thanks to the work of Second Amendment voters, Nancy Pelosi was kicked out of the Speaker’s office and Republicans will control the House of Representatives next year.

Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), possibly the next Speaker, is not solid on the 2nd Amendment and with dozens of RINOs in his conference, we can’t take anything for granted in Congress.

Despite that, it’s clear that the days of rabid gun control just sailing through the House at warp speed are over.

But there is a lot more damage that Joe Biden can do.

Biden issued multiple Executive Orders attacking our gun rights in 2021 and 2022. These orders are unconstitutional, of course, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t being enforced!

And now, Biden is promising to issue even more of them!

And that’s why we need your support. So please renew your membership for 2023 IMMEDIATELY!

That’s why Ohio Gun Owners is spearheading the effort to pass the Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) in Columbus next session — to tell Joe Biden that Ohio cops will NOT be enforcing his tyrannical gun control agenda – EVER!

Here’s the truth: the federal government has ALWAYS relied on state and local cops to enforce their laws and Executive Orders — they simply don’t have enough manpower of their own.

SAPA legislation takes that into account, asserts our state sovereignty and reminds the federal government that Ohioans fund our troopers, deputies, and city cops, not the feds.

In other words, our cops work for us, not Joe Biden.

And because our law enforcement community works for Ohioans, SAPA legislation instructs them to only enforce Ohio laws when it comes to firearms, ammunition, and accessories!

No, SAPA can’t stop Joe Biden from sending in federal agents to enforce federal gun control laws. That might be a Supremacy Clause issue, but we don’t have to do that.

Biden can’t afford the political optics of sending the feds into the states to round up gun owners. And by denying Biden the use of Ohio cops, his agenda will fall flat on its face anyway.

Naturally, big city police chiefs are furious about SAPA.

You see, through the federal Equitable Sharing Program, these local departments receive 80% of the money generated when local cops assist the federal government in an inter-agency task force — and we’re talking about millions of dollars per year!

That’s why we’ve put civil penalties into this law. So if the Columbus PD, for example, violates SAPA law and aids the DOJ in enforcing an Executive Order attacking gun owners, you’d be able to sue the department in civil court for damages!

The opposite of being anti-cop, SAPA protects the legions of pro-gun cops here in Ohio who don’t want to become an appendage of Joe Biden’s war against gun owners.

And the best part is that the Supreme Court has repeatedly upheld state’s rights in cases like this. And with Missouri having already enacted this legislation and survived three DOJ court challenges, it’s clear Ohio can pass this too!

But just because it should be easy to pass this, doesn’t mean that it will. OGO has had multiple meetings with leaders in Columbus who are very resistant to SAPA.

It’s going to be a fight. And that’s why I hope you’ll renew your membership for 2023, so we have the ammo we’ll need!

But passing SAPA legislation is just ONE of the issues facing gun owners next year here in Columbus.

In addition to trying to bypass Congress and mandate gun control through Executive Orders, Joe Biden’s regime and the DOJ are desperately trying to bribe ‘red’ states into passing ‘Red Flag Gun Confiscation’ in exchange for tens of millions of dollars!

Biden hopes that by getting any red state to adopt ‘Red Flags’ in 2023, it will spark a domino effect.

And thanks to legislation he signed into law earlier this year, Biden and the DOJ have $750,000,000 to use to bribe states that pass it.

You and I both know what will happen to our gun rights if Ohio adopts ‘Red Flag’ laws in exchange for 10, 20, or even 50 million dollars — it would be a complete disaster!

That’s because ‘Red Flag’ laws allow almost anyone to claim that you may be ‘dangerous.’ And if the judge agrees (and they’ll always agree to cover their backside), they’ll order the confiscation of your firearms immediately.

To be clear, your guns would be seized before you’ve been convicted of anything! Worse, they’d be seized before you’ve ever been charged with anything! It’s the end of ‘due process!’

And while there’s a process to get your guns back, you’d have to spend a fortune in legal fees and your reputation would already be in tatters, even though you weren’t convicted of a crime in a court of law.

Like we’ve done every year since 2018, we’ll be fighting hard to make sure that we block the Red Flag laws that get introduced in Columbus in the 135th Ohio General Assembly.

But if that wasn’t enough on our plate for 2023, Ohio’s Stand-Your-Ground law is in desperate need of an overhaul, too.

It’s true, Ohio has a Stand-Your-Ground law on the books. But it was weakened when RINOs in the House passed it in 2020.

Originally, OGO’s Stand-Your-Ground law (SB381) not only repealed Ohio’s nasty “duty to retreat” law, but it also had robust immunity protections so that anti-gun prosecutors can’t destroy the life of an innocent citizen who is forced to use a firearm in self-defense by charging them anyway!

RINO’s in the Ohio House stripped those portions out in the committee process, but with a new, pro-gun Speaker of the House, we need to fix that.

This has massive, real-life consequences as Kyle Rittenhouse and Mark McCloskey can attest to. And in an era when George Soros is directly funding county attorney races, the odds of being victimized by a woke prosecutor are growing fast!

I wish I could say it would be easy to pass these bills.

It should be. We have a GOP Supermajority in both chambers of the General Assembly — but that doesn’t mean this will be easy.

We’re going to have to push, hard, with the same grassroots pressure that enabled us to pass Constitutional Carry and Stand-Your-Ground in the first place.

That’s why I hope you’ll renew your membership in Ohio Gun Owners before it expires on December 31st!

The amount of your renewal is entirely up to you. Some have renewed for just $25 or $50. Others have made very generous renewals for $75, $100, or $250. And some have selected a lifetime membership in the amount of $1,000.

OGO members have stood tall for many years, securing freedom, destroying the careers of gun grabbers and crushing gun control. But Biden’s not letting up. Neither can we!

Renew your membership TODAY!

(Remember, all renewals of $75 or higher come with a free T-Shirt, so I hope you’ll be generous.)

For Ohio,
