2020 Gun Rights Pre-Primary Candidate Survey RESULTS
We surveyed every candidate running for the Ohio House and Senate in the 2020 election cycle, and asked them all the 12 questions listed below. Each candidate was clearly informed that a failure to return the 2020 Ohio Gun Owners survey or refusal to answer particular questions would be graded as an anti-gun position. While we will be surveying post primary for purposes of the general election, gun owners are situated to make a huge impact by making knowledgeable choices in the primary process.

Survey Questions & Answers
Question 1: If elected, would you OPPOSE and vote NO on “Universal Gun Registration” or similar legislation that would ban all private party sales, make criminals out of Ohio gun owners who want to pass on family firearms to their children and grandchildren – and create or expand the centralized database of gun owners at the same time?

Question 9: Would you support legislation that would strengthen Ohio’s important pre-emption law, which ensures no local government body can pass a gun law that is stricter than state law, by allowing victims to file civil action against violators of Ohio law, thus putting a clear end to the city-by-city abuse that Ohioans are currently experiencing?

Question 10: Will you oppose and vote NO on all methods of gun control, including those that the media calls “reasonable,” such as laws that disallow those with simple misdemeanor convictions from owning and carrying guns, increasing the minimum age of those who carry guns for self-defense, new taxes on ammunition, and new ways to track guns and gun owners?
