Chris Dorr – Executive Director
Chris Dorr is the founder and Executive Director of Ohio Gun Owners, the Buckeye State’s leading statewide grassroots organization dedicated to defending and advancing the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Ohioans.
Under Chris Dorr’s leadership, OGO has become one of the most active and influential voices for gun owners in the state. The organization is known for its principled, no-compromise stance on the Second Amendment and for mobilizing tens of thousands of supporters to take action at critical moments — whether that’s stopping gun control bills in the legislature or pushing for pro-gun reforms like Stand-Your-Ground law.
Chris Dorr brings a results-driven, transparent, and confrontational style to political advocacy. He believes the right to keep and bear arms is not negotiable — it’s a God-given right enshrined in both the U.S. and Ohio Constitutions. By holding politicians accountable regardless of party, he has helped reshape Ohio’s political landscape on gun rights.
As one of the Dorr Brothers, fighting for gun rights is in his blood. Chris and his wife Lydia have nine children. A former heavy equipment operator, asphalt paver operator and cattle feeder, Chris caught the politics bug in 2007 working for the Ron Paul for President campaign in various states.
A Christian, a homeschooling father and outdoorsman, he is committed to passing down the Christian Western values of faith, freedom, and personal responsibility that built our nation to the next generation.
