2026 Ohio Gun Owners Primary Election Voter Guide
The candidates gun owners pick in the May 5 Republican Primary will have a massive impact on whether Ohio moves forward on our gun rights or whether weak Republicans and gun-grabbers keep selling us out.
There is a lot riding on this primary.
That is why Ohio Gun Owners runs our candidate survey program. We want gun owners to know exactly where candidates stand before they get your vote.
Every candidate was given the chance to complete our survey and tell gun owners where they stand on our right to keep and bear arms.
If a candidate refused to answer gun owners at all, that candidate is shown below with a “??“.
If a candidate refused to answer our candidate questionnaire AND they have a record of anti-gun actions, that candidate is shown below with an “F.”

If you see a candidate with a strong rating out on the campaign trail, thank them for stepping up and going on record when it comes to our gun rights.
If you see a candidate with an “F” rating, ask them to apologize to gun voters.
And if a candidate is listed with “??”, remember why: they had the chance to answer Ohio Gun Owners and chose not to do it.
Whatever you do, vote pro-gun in the May 5 Republican Primary.
Rating key used in this guide:
A+ = top rating for incumbents based on survey and voting record
Aq = top rating for non-incumbents based on questionnaire
??? = no data available
F = no survey returned or anti-gun actions taken
For Freedom,

Chris Dorr
Executive Director
Ohio Gun Owners
