The Freedom to Carry Act (HB 495 and SB 392) rests on a simple idea: if you can legally own it, you can legally carry it. It takes suppressors and short barreled rifles and shotguns off Ohio’s dangerous ordnance list. SB 392 has had just one hearing, a sponsor hearing in the Senate, but the House version hasn’t had a single hearing, and if politicians don’t pass it in the lame duck session, it dies. Ohio Gun Owners sent legislators a memo telling them to move it immediately. Now it’s your turn to tell your politicians to pass it.

I’ll be straight with you. Politicians must pass the Freedom to Carry Act in the lame duck session, or it dies. Lame duck is the stretch after the election and before the year ends.
The idea behind HB 495 and SB 392 is simple: if you can legally own it, you can legally carry it. No asterisks. No special carve outs for the gear politicians don’t like.
That’s why this bill takes suppressors and short barreled rifles and shotguns off Ohio’s dangerous ordnance list. If you can legally own that gear, Ohio law has no business treating it like dangerous ordnance.

Where it stands right now SB 392 has had just one hearing, a sponsor hearing in the Senate. The House version, HB 495, hasn’t had a single hearing. If they don’t pass it in the lame duck session, it dies. |
They’re counting on you to stay silent until lame duck runs out and the clock does their work for them.
Don’t let them. Tell your politicians to pass the Freedom to Carry Act in the lame duck session. It takes a minute, and they’ll hear it straight from you.
Tell them to pass it in lame duck
On October 14, Ohio Gun Owners sent a memo to legislators at the Ohio Statehouse telling them to move the Freedom to Carry Act immediately in the lame duck session. We’re putting the pressure on them. Now it’s your turn. Use the button below to send your legislators a message and tell them to pass Freedom to Carry before it dies.

Gun owners don’t get what we want by asking nicely and waiting. We get it by making noise until ignoring us costs more than passing the bill.

P.S. Send your message first. Then, if you’re able, a gift of $10 helps Ohio Gun Owners keep the heat on House politicians so Freedom to Carry passes in the lame duck session.
