The goal of the Freedom to Carry Act was simple: let law-abiding Ohioans carry the legal firearm they choose, not just a handgun. Under it, Ohio's concealed handgun license would have become a concealed weapons license, and anyone allowed to carry concealed, with or without a license, could carry any gun Ohio and federal law allow them to have, starting at age 18 instead of 21. And it would have let you keep a loaded firearm, including a rifle or shotgun, in your vehicle, and taken suppressors and short barreled rifles and shotguns off Ohio's dangerous ordnance list.

Here's another part of the record:

In December 2024, Ghanbari voted against the Second Amendment Preservation Act.

The goal of the Second Amendment Preservation Act was simple: keep Ohio from helping Washington go after law-abiding gun owners. Under it, no state or local official in Ohio could enforce, or help enforce, federal rules on firearms, firearm accessories or ammunition. And it had real teeth: a $25,000 penalty for each violation, plus the right for you to take the offending government agency to court, so a protection on paper would be one in practice.

In November 2021, Ghanbari voted against the full constitutional carry amendment that would have let Ohioans carry any lawful weapon.

Haraz Ghanbari also voted twice for the so called SAVE Students Act, House Bill 123, on October 2, 2019 and again on November 19, 2020. It opened the doors of Ohio schools to gun control advocates to teach our kids about the dangers of "gun violence." That is gun control, because it trains the next generation to turn against the Second Amendment and against gun ownership itself. Gun control groups like Sandy Hook Promise supported it wholeheartedly, and Ohio Gun Owners testified against it.

Check the record before you vote on or before November 3.
