ACTION ALERT: Your Calls Needed!

Your pressure is working, but we can’t let up now!

Thanks to your calls and emails, Ohio’s Constitutional Carry bill (H.B. 201) was introduced with over two dozen co-sponsors.

And now H.B. 201 has already had “sponsor” and “proponent” testimony!

But now it is time to crank up the pressure to make sure the House Federalism Committee knows that there is real grassroots support for Constitutional Carry.

Constitutional Carry isn’t a novel concept. It’s on the move all across the country!

Already law in 13 states, it simply means that if you are not prohibited from owning a firearm, you should be able to carry one for self-defense with no permission required.

States that have it already see an INCREASE in demand for training, a REDUCTION in violent crime and zero increase in accidental shootings!

But now the anti-gunners are starting to take notice.

My Google alerts ping routinely now with alerts from the Dayton Daily News and the Columbus Dispatch – no friends of gun owners – running articles.

And the Ohio chapter of Bloomberg’s gun-control organization, “Moms Demand Action – Ohio,” are focused squarely on opposing H.B. 201.

In fact, it’s the ONLY bill on their facebook page that they’re opposing!

But this comes as no surprise.

Bloomberg has been deploying his troops to states all across America where Constitutional Carry is on the move.

We saw it earlier this year in New Hampshire. We’ve seen it this year in Minnesota.

Last year his “moms” were crawling all over the Missouri capitol building as they passed major pro-gun reforms.

And with Bloomberg recently pledging an additional $25,000,000 to fight for gun-control at the state-legislative-level, I need your help, Web.

We need to keep H.B. 201 moving through the process at the Statehouse.

The committee process in the Ohio House of Representatives goes like this:

First, you have “sponsor testimony.” This is when a bill author introduces the bill to its assigned committee.

Next, the committee chair holds “proponent testimony,” when interested parties and the organizations mobilizing for a bill offer their testimony in support for the legislation.

After that comes “opponent testimony,” when individuals and organizations offer testimony to the committee against legislation.

Usually, “opponent testimony” is followed by “interested party testimony,” when those either for and against a bill are provided one more chance to testify before the committee.

After “interested party” hearings are complete is when they normally have a committee vote to advance the bill to the House for a full floor vote!

Right now, H.B. 201 has made it past the “sponsor” and “proponent” hearings.

ACTION ALERT

But we can’t let up now – gun owners are just getting warmed up!

That’s why I’m asking you to contact Committee chairwoman Kristina Roegner right away and ask her to schedule “opponent testimony” for H.B. 201!

You can contact her at:

Click on the email link above to send her a pre-written email message!

If that doesn’t work, feel free to copy and paste this language:

Dear Federalism Committee Chairwoman Roegner,

I’m writing you today in support for H.B. 201, Ohio Gun Owners’ Constitutional Carry bill that was introduced by Rep. Hood.

With the “sponsor” and “proponent” testimony hearings already behind us, it is vital we keep H.B. 201 moving through the process.

Please schedule “opponent testimony” hearings for H.B. 201 as quickly as possible, so that we can continue its progression to the House for a full floor vote.

Respectfully,

XXXXX

Web, without you and thousands of fellow Second Amendment supporters across Ohio taking action, it is a guarantee that H.B. 201 wouldn’t have made it this far.

So please take a moment to call or email Rep Roegner’s office right away to keep up our momentum!

And if you are able, please consider making a contribution to Ohio Gun Owners.

Pushing MAJOR overhauls of Ohio’s carry laws takes a massive amount of outpouring of the grassroots – and we are working overtime to mobilize grassroots by the thousands.

Every penny you can spare to help OGO mobilize for H.B. 201 will pay dividends for years to come, as we work to pass not only Constitutional Carry but other pro-gun reforms as well.

Whether your contribution is $1,000 or $10 or anywhere in between, we can’t thank you enough for your support.

But please contact Representative Roegner right away!

For Freedom,

Chris Dorr
Executive Director
Ohio Gun Owners

P.S. Thanks to your calls and emails, Constitutional Carry (H.B. 201) has made it through the cosponsor push, sponsor testimony and proponent hearings!

And if you are able, please consider making a contribution to Ohio Gun Owners.
