The politicians in Columbus want your vote this fall. All we want are the gun rights they campaigned on last time, and they do not get to duck that while they scramble back to the Statehouse for a gas tax holiday.

House and Senate politicians are coming back Wednesday, September 30, for a session leader they hastily put on the calendar to pass a 90-day gas tax holiday, after saying they were not going to come back until after the election.

Here’s the situation: In the last few months, federal courts and DOJ moved the ball.

A federal court in Texas struck key NFA registration rules for suppressors and other items Congress already untaxed, with a permanent injunction that covers the plaintiffs and their members and customers, not a nationwide takedown of the NFA. And DOJ said it may not criminally punish dealers for selling handguns to otherwise law-abiding adults ages 18 to 20, while Congress left the statute on the books, Ohio’s own under-21 handgun rules still apply, and nobody should pretend every shop is suddenly going to start selling pistols to 18-20-year-olds.

The Freedom to Carry Act is still sitting in the House and the Senate at the Statehouse and it would fix these issues in Ohio law.

So here is what I need you to do today. While they are in Columbus for a gas holiday, demand they take up and pass the Freedom to Carry Act now. They need to deliver a HUGE pro-gun win before the elections.

Do not wait until after November 3rd. Do it now.
