Mike DeWine Signs HB86 Into Law!

This afternoon, Governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 86 into law in his ceremonial office at the Ohio Statehouse! His signature comes as the culmination of the hard work of the thousands of gun owners like you across Ohio who took action and contacted your state representative, state senator and the Governor’s office! With the signing of House Bill 86, firearms like the Mossberg Shockwave, the Remington Tac-13 V3 and the

House Bill 86 Heads to Governor DeWine for Signing!

On Wednesday afternoon, the Ohio Senate voted House Bill 86 out of the Senate and on to Governor DeWine for signing by a vote of 23-9! House Bill 86 fixes last year’s HB228 by preventing common firearms from becoming categorized as “dangerous ordnance,” and will prevent people who own them from becoming targets for anti-gun prosecutors. Clearing this final legislative hurdle (but it still has to pass the governor’s signature pen, yet!)

Action ALERT: Possible Final Vote TODAY on HB86!

I’ve got some great news! Yesterday afternoon, HB86 was voted out of the Senate Government Oversight Committee and referred to the Senate Rules Committee! The Senate Rules Committee meets this morning at 11:00am, and here’s the rub: If we light up their phone lines and email inboxes all morning, there’s a chance that HB86 might get voted out of the Senate today, as there is Senate floor session scheduled for 1:30pm! That’s

Action ALERT: Senate FIX to HB228 Introduced!

Your phone calls, emails and Tweets demanding a fix to stop HB228 from making felons out of law-abiding gun owners on March 28th are working! Only moments ago, Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson) introduced Senate Bill 53 which would FIX HB228 and prevent its disastrous enactment. As you know, due to a drafting error in last year’s HB228 that was perpetuated by the incompetence of the bill sponsors and managers, unless a fix is

Action ALERT: Massive Ohio Gun Ban to Take Effect March 24th - Act NOW!

This is an Ohio Gun Owners Emergency Alert. Please read this memo in its entirety and take action below. Effective March 24th (in just a few weeks), gun owners in Ohio will likely see many firearms become illegal, thanks to the gross negligence of the bill sponsors and bill managers of last year’s House Bill 228. Specifically, the bill’s sponsor, Representative Sarah LaTourette (R-Chesterland), and bill managers Jim Irvine and Dean Rieck

Help us STOP H.R. 8!

Nancy Pelosi is working around the clock to deal a kill shot to our gun rights as she works to pass H.R. 8. This bill would create what the gun-grabbers have always wanted: a national database of every gun and gun owner in the country! This bill already has a whopping 230 cosponsors – more than the number of votes needed to pass this bill. But cosponsoring a bill and

Congress to Take Up National Gun Registry Legislation TODAY!

As we work around the clock trying to add Ohio to the growing list of Stand-Your-Ground and Constitutional Carry states, we are also paying close attention to the war against gun owners going on in Washington, D.C. That’s why I’m writing you today, as it appears likely that Congress will be holding hearings TODAY on H.R. 8! H.R. 8 is being sold to gun owners as an innocent ‘Universal Background

Here Are The Cosponsors For Constitutional Carry So Far:

“Have folks call ’em. That’ll get ’em to cosponsor the bill!” That’s what OGO member Matt just told me on the phone when he called our office to ask some particulars about Constitutional Carry. You see, Representatives Tom Brinkman and Ron Hood are introducing Ohio’s Constitutional Carry bill, and right now it is open for cosponsors. But the deadline for cosponsorship ends tomorrow at 5:00pm sharp! I explained to Matt

Constitutional Carry passes the Senate!

Constitutional Carry just passed through the South Dakota Senate TODAY. It now heads to the South Dakota House, where my personal friend, Speaker of the House Steve Haugaard, will likely ram it through in a matter of days! And after newly minted Governor Kristi Noem signs it into law (as she said she will) into law, South Dakota residents will no longer need permission to exercise their Second Amendment rights
