We’ve done a lot of work, you and me, to get the Ohio Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) drafted, introduced and PASSED out of the House Government Oversight Committee.
The bill is done and ready for a floor vote, but as you know, RINO’s in the House (like State Rep Cindy Abrams) are trying to block it.
But here’s the deal: the gun-grabbers know that pressure is mounting by the hour for House Republicans to pass HB51, so now they are trying to find ways to SABOTAGE it!
And that’s exactly what some of them are doing.
Late yesterday afternoon, we got wind of a plot to water the bill down, and we wanted to let you know right away so you can help us FIGHT BACK and defend the bill!
Here’s the rumor we’ve heard (from a very credible source):
Republican House Leadership is considering an amendment to HB51 that would strip out the prohibition on Ohio law enforcement agencies from hiring former ATF enforcement agents who were previously involved in enforcing unconstitutional acts, laws, and executive orders regarding firearms.
That’s a big ‘hell no’ from OGO.
Now, let me unpack this a bit.
Some of you might be thinking, “Is it really a big deal who these agencies hire considering the lack of people interested in serving in law enforcement these days?
Let me put it to you this way.
If you ran a daycare, both you and the parents would want it to be adequately staffed with the proper number of workers necessary to take care of and watch all of the kids properly.
But the parents would want to know with certainty that your hiring standards excluded workers that would do your kids harm, like child molesters, previously convicted violent felons, etc.
In other words, you probably wouldn’t want a bunch of pedophiles working for you at your daycare, and the parents of the kids sure as hell don’t either.
Just like eliminating pedophiles from a list of possible job applicants to work at a daycare, so too HB51 is designed to keep people out of the Ohio law enforcement hiring pool that have already molested and violated the Second Amendment rights of our fellow gun owners.
This is a good thing, and it absolutely needs to stay in the bill.
Here’s why:
If this provision is not in place, ATF field agents could be deputized under state or local law enforcement agencies, and immediately be able to go to work enforcing Joe Biden’s gun-control orders and edicts – even if SAPA is on the books!
If this effort to undermine our gun rights is successful, this gaping hole in SAPA will be brutally exploited by the ATF, the politicized Sheriffs and police chiefs, making the bill virtually unenforceable.
As a refresher, SAPA (HB51) tells the federal government that Ohio will not allow our own law enforcement to be used in any capacity to enforce Joe Biden’s gun-control agenda on Ohio gun owners.
And part one of the enforcement mechanism of the bill is to allow citizens like you and me the ability to take an agency (like Columbus PD for example) to civil court if our gun rights are violated.
The other part to the enforcement piece is keeping those federal agents who were directly responsible for the civil rights of Americans being violated from working to enforce gun laws here in Ohio.
Without these two pieces in place, SAPA simply will NOT be the protection from federal tyranny that gun owners deserve.
Always remember this: ATF agents are like the registered sex-offenders of the Second Amendment.
They exist to molest the Second Amendment.
They serve no legitimate function, the whole idea of the ATF is a violation of the 10TH Amendment and their entire agency should be abolished and never replaced.
And they are exactly the bad actors our bill is designed to stop from enforcing gun laws on Ohio gun owners.
The fact is, the Republican supermajorities in Columbus should be asking themselves, “How do we make our laws better and stronger, so we can better protect our citizens from federal overreach and tyranny?”
Instead they are trying to water the bill down in an effort to appease lobbyists, gun-control organizations and now the corrupt ATF rather than the citizens that they are supposed to work for.
If you’ve been reading our emails lately, you know that Kamala Harris recently opened a “Red Flag” Center at the White House, and they already have the “Office of Gun Violence Prevention.
And if you watched the news in the past few weeks, you know that Joe Biden is DAILY attacking our Second Amendment and urging Congress (& state legislatures around the country) to pass a ban on AR15’s.
But “Republicans control the U.S. House, so this will never happen,” some people claim.
Think again.
FOUR Republican Congressman from Ohio (including Dave Joyce and Mike Turner) voted to fund Joe Biden’s Red Flag Gun Confiscation laws across the country not even two years ago.
So did former US Senator Rob Portman.
And sadly, many of those ‘Republicans’ are still elected to Congress today.
If the Democrats flip only THREE seats this November and keep Joe Biden’s walking cadaver breathing, we will be in a war against tyranny we have not seen in our lifetimes.
They have already said that as soon as they have full control they will pass a so-called “Assault Weapons” ban, Universal Gun Registration, mandatory deadly safe storage laws, mandatory waiting periods, and more!
These are the reasons why we cannot afford to wait until the 2025 session, SAPA must be passed, and passed now.
But it also must be STRONG, intact, and do the job it needs to do – having the protections that gun owners DESERVE.
We need to send the overwhelming message that if they water this bill down just to placate the RINO’s and the gun-grabbers, gun owners will make it their mission to punish them in every single future election they face.
So if you get someone on the phone or get them emailing you back, be sure to tell them that gun owners sent a message in the March primary that gun voters want SAPA passed, and passed intact!
Remember, even though they hate it, the politicians work for you, not the other way around.
And there is still a general election coming up this fall…
