The political games in Columbus are in full swing.
Ohio Gun Owners’ members and supporters worked tirelessly to force action on the Ohio House Government Oversight Committee before the summer recess — signing petitions, making phone calls, and writing letters to Committee members.
It looked like it was set to pay off after the Committee held a fourth hearing on HB227, Constitutional Carry, with just enough time left on the calendar to move the bill out of committee, but then the betrayals started.
Some Members of the Committee began to get cold feet, openly discussing watering down the bill as I’ll tell you about shortly. Then, they struck the vote and left town before taking action!
Kathryn, if we don’t respond with overwhelming grassroots pressure IMMEDIATELY, I’m more worried than ever that BILLIONAIRE anti-gun activist Michael Bloomberg and his pals could succeed in KILLING Constitutional Carry.
This petition insists Members of the Committee vote to PASS H.B. 227 as currently written.
My plan is to bury the Committee under an avalanche of petitions from THOUSANDS of Ohioans to generate the pressure needed to get the Ohio Constitutional Carry Bill out of committee and to the House floor.
As you know, if passed, Constitutional Carry would restore the God-given right of law-abiding Ohio citizens to carry a concealed firearm to protect themselves and their families — without going through a bunch of bureaucratic rigmarole or paying expensive fees.
So if you’re legal to own a firearm, you’re legal to carry it. PERIOD.
The great news is, Constitutional Carry is spreading across the country like wildfire. Just this year it has passed in Montana, Utah, Tennessee, Texas and battleground Iowa.
But it was not just hard-red Republican states that have passed it, either.
The fake news hates it when people like you know this, but it has even passed in states under Democrat governors, like it did in West Virginia and Missouri.
And despite screams from the cradle-to-grave nanny-staters, states with Constitutional Carry are not hotbeds of Old West shootouts or vigilante justice.
Studies show that the more guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens, the safer our communities are. It is common sense.
And more Americans than ever are realizing that taxes, fees and regulations never keep guns out of the hands of kidnappers, killers and rapists.
They understand that violent criminals, madmen and Antifa terrorist thugs don’t submit to trainings or apply for a plastic-coated permission slip to carry their firearms legally.
All these INFRINGMENTS on our God-given right to keep and bear arms do is create roadblocks for law-abiding gun owners to protect themselves.
The fact is, the Second Amendment and Article 1, Section 4 of the Ohio Constitution enumerate the right of self-defense as a limitation on GOVERNMENT, not We the People, and the necessity for restricting government is becoming more evident every day!
The good news is, as I’ve told you before, there is massive support for Constitutional Carry in the House Republican caucus, and even the chairman of the Government Oversight Committee, Shane Wilkin, is a cosponsor of the bill.
But after learning Constitutional Carry would change Ohio’s Concealed Handgun License into a Concealed Weapons License, like many other states have done, the fretting began in full force.
You see, under current Ohio law, you are free to carry a pocket-knife in your pocket.
But if you ever use that pocket-knife as a self-defense tool, you could be in big trouble.
So we fixed all that in HB227 by simply making it so that any weapon you are legal to own can be carried in self-defense WITHOUT fear of what a Leftist prosecutor might think you should be permitted to carry!
Needless to say, this is common sense to every gun owner in the state, but most politicians have the backbone of a wet noodle.
HELP PASS CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY!
Your signed petition to the Members of the Government Oversight Committee is a big part of proving that.
But I hope you won’t stop there.
I hope you’ll agree to make a generous contribution as well to help Ohio Gun Owners launch a full-scale statewide mobilization program I’ll conduct throughout the summer, including:
>>> Collecting at least 100,000 signed petitions from Second Amendment supporters across Ohio insisting that their legislators take action on Constitutional Carry;
>>> A massive mail and email program all across Ohio designed to generate pressure on politicians;
>>> A statewide media tour where I’ll work talk radio and local TV explaining why Constitutional Carry is so important for Ohio;
>>> Hard-hitting Internet, radio and newspaper ads calling out anti-gun politicians who oppose Constitutional Carry.
I know this plan is ambitious. It’s not cheap either.
But I’m afraid it’s the ONLY way you and I are going to stand up to BILLIONAIRE anti-gun activist Michael Bloomberg and the rest of the gun-grabbers in Columbus.
Thanks to your continued support, I truly believe we’re on the verge of something very special.
But we have to double-down on Members of the Committee this summer to get the Ohio Constitutional Carry Bill moving!

P.S. I could hardly believe my eyes as I watched our “friends” on the Committee get cold feet and refuse to vote on the Ohio Constitutional Carry Bill before the summer recess.
But if you and I can crank up the pressure this summer, I’m confident we can convince the Committee to act when they return.
