“We’re focused every single day on passing STRONG Ohio [Red Flag Gun Confiscation], and that’s what I am going to do…”
That’s what Governor DeWine told the Columbus Dispatch when asked what gun control laws he wants to see passed in reaction to the Dayton, OH shooting that left nine dead and others wounded.
Ever since that fateful day, Governor DeWine has been doing everything he can to get his gun control past!
And even though OGO members and supporters FORCED him to sign the repeal of Ohio’s “Duty to Retreat Law”, he has since recommitted himself to the war on curb-stomping our God-given freedoms forever!
And now, he has announced his new scheme to pull a fast one on OUR gun rights by slipping de Facto Red Flag Gun Confiscation through the back door by inserting it into his budget bill [H.B. 110] that was introduced in the House just this past week!
You see, Governor DeWine knows that he faces a very difficult road getting a standalone gun-control bill passed in Columbus as long as the brick wall of Freedom – OGO people like you and me – is standing in his path!
So instead what does he do?
DeWine is trying to hide his agenda from the scrutiny a normal bill attracts by trying to BURY his gun control in the 2,000+ page state budget bill!
You know what we at Ohio Gun Owners say to that? HELL NO!
Governor DeWine and his herd of RINOs and Democrats in the General Assembly are quietly hoping that you or I don’t notice their gun control in a bill that is over two thousand pages long!
Well folks, they are just dead wrong.
But here is what DeWine budget bill gun control will do:
- ●●Increase the amount of data flowing into the Federal NCIC/NICS Database, all of which triggers denials for firearms purchases.
To be clear, background checks haven’t stopped a single killer in American history.
But the reason why radical Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, Biden and Chuck Schumer are always trying to increase the amount of information flowing into the NICS system is very simple: gun confiscation.
Pelosi, Biden, Schumer and every gun-control organization in America support expansions of these databases for the same reason we oppose them.
The day gun confiscation is implemented in America is the day the background check database gets used for its intended purpose.
- ●●The bill implements de factoRed Flags Gun Confiscation by adding most warrants to the federal NICS database, potentially canceling the Second Amendment rights of innocent men and women.
Ever had an ex spouse or girlfriend/boyfriend go totally crazy and make up stories about you?
DeWine wants them able to go to one of Ohio’s plethora of liberal, leftist judges and convince them to issue a warrant against you, and that warrant instantly goes into the NICS database as a prohibitor.
But what about truth or justice, you might ask?
People like DeWine and the Radical Left could not care less about it, because it is all fair game to these people.
We will be digging into the governor’s gun-control proposals more in the near future, but for now, we are taking him at his word when he says he wants to pass his gun-control agenda in the budget bill!
I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted trying to pretend to be pro-gun, only to stab gun owners in the back by supporting and scheming to cram radical gun control down our throats!
The Ohio Gun Owners team has been working around the clock, getting ready for what promises to be a big nasty fight in Columbus to stop DeWine’s de Facto Red Flag Gun Confiscation through the back door.
With your help, we are preparing to mobilize as many gun owners as possible before floor votes can be held, by:
1.) Cranking up the pressure on state lawmakers with targeted social media — going district by district — making sure that every gun owner knows to contact their lawmakers!
2.) Deploying an additional 50,000 pieces of direct mail with built in petitions so that gun owners can take action, reminding their legislators that they are watching their votes very closely.
3.) Rapidly expanding our email program to provide up to the moment updates as this fight and the legislation we are up against come into focus. Our pre-written emails to lawmakers are feared by many lawmakers, but we hope to take it to a whole new level.
4.) Unleashing a round of radio and TV ads the day before the vote, if we can afford it, to inundate Columbus with calls from angry gun owners!
But this program won’t even get off the ground if I can’t write the check to pay for it all.
I’m asking for your help to run this program, and if you are willing I need it as soon as possible.
But of course, I know that not everyone can do that.
I don’t know what you can afford, I only hope that whatever that amount is (along with your signed petition) I can get ready for this fight!
The media and Governor DeWine are counting on gun owners to sit quietly in the shadows, hoping that we are too ashamed or not paying enough attention to stand tall and fight for our gun rights.
But they’ve got another thing coming!
This country was built on a love of freedom and that love was secured by firearms in the hands of everyday patriots who were willing to fight for their freedom — a fight that continues to this day.
I’m proud to be a gun owner and I’m damn proud to stand alongside of tens of thousands of other gun owners in this wonderful state as we fight to defend our heritage of freedom!
